1990s: music and films

1990s - Another decade and more diversity coming through. Bands were still the main people rocking the charts but nevertheless you still had British soul and Indian-based music showing what they could do. Bands like Electronic rock bands like The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers began to make there debut giving them a high profile. Alternative Rock reached the mainstream, which came from the Manchester scene to produce dream pop, shoe gazing, post rock and indie pop. This then led to the commercial success of Brit pop bands like Oasis.

It was a new era and new music, a new decade to express your selfs even more than before. New faces and subcultures appearing in every direction.

Films:
  • Thousands of full-length films were produced during the 1990s.
  • Many films were specifically filmed or edited to be displayed both on theater screens as well as on the smaller TV screens, such as showing close-up scenes during dialog, rather than just wide-angle scenes in a room.
  • The home-video market became a major factor in total revenue for a film, often doubling the total income for a film.
